Francisca has been a practicing naturopath for 22 years, She received her Diploma of Naturopathy from the Naturopathic College of New Zealand in June 2002, and practises from both her home-based clinic in a beautiful villa in Koputai Port Chalmers and at the Taste Nature Integrative Clinic at Taste Nature in High Street Ōtepoti Dunedin.
Francisca connected with the natural healing realms when her partner Martyn fell unwell with an aggressive leukaemia in 1982. To support Martyn on his journey Francisca dove into learning holistic health modalities from around the world. Herbal medicine, Bach Flower Remedies, Therapeutic Massage and Reflexology (an ancient lymphatic and nervous system tuning technique) became allies in her toolkit and remain techniques she utilises in her life and in clinic to this day. Despite all of their efforts, in July 1983 Martyn passed on. Looking back Francisca ponders that it may have turned out differently if they had sought guidance from a qualified Naturopath (hindsight is 20/20, isn’t it?)
Martyn and Francisca shared a love of music, a passion Francisca has to this day. Francisca’s current band The Bus Shelter Boys, being mum to 3 adult boys and running her flourishing practice keep her well entertained. She crafts Ambrosia Botanicals- a toxin-free body care range and believes in the simplicity of a wholistic life. Her clinic is open afternoons and evenings and you can find her at the new Taste Nature Integrative Clinic and Wellness Dispensary.
